Going Digital .. Why Print on Demand?

Print on Demand is the future of e-commerce apparel printing. Developments in printing technology has finally caught up to traditional screen printing allowing for maximum control and flexibility. Traditional screen printing is a rigid process that involves a ton of waste and isn’t built for the speed and adaptivity needed in the digital world.

Printing 100 t-shirts with the hopes of selling all of them doesn’t make sense online if the same quality can be achieved on demand and shipped at the same speed.

So how is this possible?

The answer is significant advancements in digital printing technology. Most people have seen a traditional direct to garment (DTG) machine that looks like a slightly bigger home computer printer. While those DTG machines are great for smaller projects and sampling they just aren’t going to pass the quality test for retail apparel and are not built for high volume printing.

Wallflower has invested millions of dollars into state of the art printing equipment, specifically the M&R Polaris. The most advanced digital printer in the world. It’s combination of speed (280 unique prints per hour), print durability, and the best opacity of any digital printing machine available put it on a different level from the rest of the direct to garment industry.
